Maydena Gravity Camps are the ultimate multi-day camp for junior and young adult riders with intermediate to advanced ability. These camps are designed as a step up from our Maydena Mountain Kids Lessons and Kids Adventure camps, and will help young riders progress to the next level in a safe, supportive and fun environment.

Maydena Gravity Camps are hosted by our expert team of bike coaches, along with support from a group of pro (Ryan Gilchrist & Elise Empey) and semi-pro riders.

Age Groups

8-15 years old. 

Children outside these age ranges are by negotiation- please email us for more info.


Ability Level

Riders must have strong intermediate to advanced riding ability (comfortable on blue and black trails), and should have some gravity trail experience. 

Riders will be split into two groups based on their ability and experience.

Equipment

  • All riders must have a mountain bike suitable for gravity trail riding.
  • Full face helmets and knee pads are mandatory.
  • Elbow pads, chest protection, gloves, and eye protection are strongly recommended.


*Note - Bikes, pads and helmets are available for hire at Maydena Bike Park

 

Registration Includes:

  • Welcome dinner
  • Custom Number pate
  • Uplifts for 3 days of camp (Summit Uplift or Lower Mountain Uplift) 
  • Lunches, morning and afternoon snacks each day and pizza friday evening
  • Skills sessions with qualified instructors
  • Gravity laps with pro and semi-pro riders
  • Entry into Summer Sessions Phat F Friday race. 
  • Draw prizes at the end of the week 

Camp Itinerary


Tuesday Afternoon 

5:30 to 7:30 - Meet in The Local for welcome dinner, meet the coaches and pros, collect custom number plate and set some goals for the camp.


The Camp (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday) 

9:00 to 9:30  - Meet at the MBP bike school tent and spit into groups

9:30 to 12:30 - Park laps with lessons from coaches

12:30 to 1:00 - Lunch at base canteen

1:00 to 4:30  - Park Laps with guiding 

4:30 to 5:00 (Wed & Thurs) - End the day and pick up at base building


Friday Afternoon 

4:00 - Head up to check out the Sumer Sessions race course

4:30 to 5:30 - Work on line choice and race techniques with the pros

5:30 to 6:00 - Race!!! 

6:30 to 7:30 - Pizza and prizes at base. 

7:00 to 7:30 - Pick up at base building
