The mountain biking industry has seen unprecedented growth across the past several years, which has been significantly amplified through the COVID-19 pandemic.  Originally seen as the domain only of extreme sports athletes, the sport is now universally recognised as an adventure activity suitable for a wide market of participants.  Growing participation by families, older, and younger participants has been further fuelled by advancements in trail design and construction, and by improving bike technology and accessibility.

With this growth in participation, and broadening participation demographic comes new and improved opportunities for both public and commercial mountain bike destinations to attract and retain significant visitation.  With these new and improved visitor markets come countless opportunities to invigorate regional economies, create new jobs, and drive strong broader economic impact outcomes.

While the opportunity to create successful mountain bike destinations is stronger than ever before, competition and market expectations are higher than ever.  Creating and managing world-class mountain bike destinations requires an in-depth understanding of the complex and ever-changing mountain bike market, and the many nuances of designing, developing, and managing trails in an evolving outdoor environment.

The 2023 Destination Mountain Biking Forum brings together some of the leading minds in mountain bike destination design, construction, and management, from both commercial and public sector backgrounds.  The forum includes keynotes, and indoor and outdoor workshops, led by true leaders in their fields.  The forum focuses on collaborative learning and networking, with multiple audience-led panel discussions to facilitate collaborative discussion.

Beyond the presentations and workshops, the forum has a strong focus on networking.  MBP’s hospitality team will provide an amazing spread of meals, including a forum dinner in MBP’s newest dining destination, The Local.  Of course, we also encourage participants to get out and enjoy Australia’s largest and most diverse network of gravity-focused trails.  Formal and informal riding sessions are included in the program, including guided rides.

In the interests of providing attendees places are strictly limited.  We encourage signing up early to avoid disappointment.
